The History of Les Entreprises Lachance
Founded in 1962 by Léandre Lachance, we first made our mark in the real estate investment sector. In the early 1980s, we began shifting our focus to residential development, offering land for sale to both individuals and construction contractors. Our first developments were located primarily in Saint-Élie-d’Orford, Fleurimont, Rock Forest, and Waterloo.

In 1994, Patrick Lachance, son of our founder Léandre, joined the company as a co-owner and director of operations. Inspired by his father’s journey, he helped our company grow by expanding our operations into new home construction.
In 2009, the next generation took the reins with the arrival of Louis-Olivier Roy, Léandre’s grandson, who became a co-owner in 2012. He thus represents the third generation to actively participate in the growth of our company.
In 2022, we proudly celebrated 60 years of expertise, passion, and commitment to the housing industry.

Today, three generations are an integral part of our history: those who laid the foundation, those who carry on the work, and those who are taking over.
Each has brought its own vision, energy, and expertise, helping to grow a company deeply rooted in family values.
This passing down of experience, passion, and know-how is reflected in each of our projects, with the same commitment to quality… and always the same joy in building.

An exceptional occurrence
Léandre Lachance led the company for 60 years and is now passing the torch to Patrick Lachance, who officially became president in 2023.
A lasting success
For nearly 30 years, we have built and delivered more than 4,000 single-family and rental homes, making us the builder with the most homes built in Sherbrooke. Today, approximately 12,000 people live in a home built by Les Entreprises Lachance—that’s equivalent to the entire population of Bromont!
Starting with just two employees when we built our very first home in 1995, we are now a team of over 35 dedicated and committed individuals, including five family members. Despite our growth and success, we have always upheld our family values.
Firmly established in the Estrie region, we collaborate with the best suppliers in every construction specialty. We offer comprehensive services to guide you through every step of the home selection process, thanks to our team of advisors, architectural drafters, residential project managers, and our extensive network of qualified partners.
Historically specializing in single-family homes, we have diversified over the years by expanding into rental housing. Today, we own a portfolio of over 600 units, with projected growth of 100 to 200 new units per year.

Social Engagement
Despite our growth, we have remained true to our family values and our commitment to the community. We support organizations such as Moisson Estrie, the Christian Vachon Foundation, and the Rock Guertin Foundation, which work to help individuals and families in need.
Our employees can also dedicate paid days to these causes to get actively involved.
In an effort to reduce our environmental impact, we partner with Tree Canada and participate in reforestation projects.
Our commitment is to build a sustainable, supportive, and inclusive community.
Awards and Honors
In 1998, we became the leading residential builder in the Estrie region, receiving the APCHQ’s award for top general contractor in the region.
In 2005, we obtained Novoclimat accreditation, followed in 2006 by the Master Builder – Platinum Palm award from the APCHQ.
Since 2017, we have proudly maintained the GCR (Garantie Construction Résidentielle) AA Quality Rating, the highest distinction awarded.
In 2021, we received the Consumer Choice Award in the Residential Construction – Estrie category.
